An Animal Rescuer
I assist God's creatures. I have a drive to fulfill their needs. I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless bloodhounds without planning or selection.
I have bought dog food with my last dollar. I have patted a wet cold head with my bare hand. I have hugged someone vicious and afraid. I have fallen in love many many times and have cried into the fur of a lifeless body to many times.
I have animal friends and friends who have animal friends. I know of no bloodhound unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren't any animals in Heaven, but I believe there are. Why would god make something so perfect and leave it behind? Some may think we are master of the animals, but the animals have mastered themselves- something people still haven't learned.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan, nothing more rewarding than saving a life, no higher recognition than watching them thrive. There is no greater joy than seeing a dog play. who only days ago was sad and weak.
By the love of those who I've seen it shining in the eyes of so many, grateful for so little..
I am an Animal Rescuer... My work is never done, My home is never quiet, My wallet is always empty, My heart is always full.
Special Thanks to Sandi for opening my heart, home and eyes.
I could not of said it any better.

Lady Bird is looking for her new forever home.
About Lady Bird. Her story will make you cry.
She is currently in foster care and needs a forever loving home. She is an alpha female and will not do well with another female dog. However she was raised with 8 children ranging from 1-14 and loves being with kids.
She is very loving and playful. The last Vet-Check was end of May. She is fully vaccinated and de-wormed. The original owner bought her from a breeder. Her foster mom moved in next door in 2007. Her nights were sleepless, because she just listened to crying dogs. When she went over two the neighbors she found 2 bloodhounds skin and bones and in small cages. After talking to the neighbor she discovered the owner lost his job and had 8 kids. he could not take care of the dogs anymore. At Christmas time, one of the kids called and told her that Lady Bird is dying. She ran over and saw, that she had already delivered 7 pups and as a Vet-Tech, knew she had pups still in her body. She tried to get them out but without any luck. She told the neighbor, you have to call a Vet. but he said just let her die. She called the vet in the middle of the night and took her in. She had a high fever. Her foster mom has her healty and strong. but can not keep her due to her other female dogs. More pictures can be sent upon request.

Lady Bird update: Ladybird came to our home on Sunday July 12th. I have never had a bloodhound steal my heart in such a short time as she did. I took her to the vet on the following monday and she tested heartworm positive. I started her heartworm treatment and she has a very long 6 weeks ahead of her. She has found a very loving home here and will be staying with us. Much Love to Wiebke for getting Ladybird as healthy as she did and I will continue to make sure she stays this way.
